WHY WE GIVE
God’s blessings are never meant to stop with us—they’re meant to flow through us. Scripture teaches that God enriches His people not just for comfort, but for generosity, so that His grace can reach others through our obedience. When we give, we’re not losing—we’re participating in God’s purpose for His provision and turning His blessings into praise.
OUR GIVING PHILOSOPHY
Everything Comes from God
Biblical generosity begins with the recognition that God is the source of all things. The Bibleconsistently affirms that every resource we possess—time, money, ability, and opportunity—originates from Him. When David collected resources for the temple, he acknowledged that even their generosity was only a return of what God had already provided. Therefore, giving is not about losing something we earned, but worshipfully acknowledging God’s ownership and goodness. This posture guards our hearts from pride and anchors generosity in gratitude rather than obligation.

We're Managers Not Owners
The Bible describes believers as stewards entrusted with God’s resources. A steward manages what belongs to another and will one day give an account. Jesus’ parables repeatedly emphasize faithfulness over possession, teaching that God measures success not by how much we keep, but by how well we manage what we’re given. Understanding ourselves as managers frees us from anxiety and possessiveness while calling us into intentional, faithful generosity aligned with God’s purposes.

You Can't Out-Give God
The Bible teaches a divine principle of generosity: God responds to generous hearts with abundant grace. This is not a transactional formula or prosperity guarantee, but a relational promise rooted in God’s character. When we give freely, God ensures we lack nothing necessary to continue living generously. God’s supply always outpaces our sacrifice, and His provision flows not just to meet our needs but to enable continued generosity for every good work.

Grace Exceeds Law
Under the New Covenant, giving is no longer driven by legal obligation but by grace-transformed hearts. While the law set minimum requirements, grace calls believers to a higher standard of joyful, willing generosity modeled after Christ Himself. Jesus did not give a percentage—He gave His life. Grace does not lower the call to generosity; it deepens it, moving us from duty to delight and from obligation to overflow.

Faithful Sacrifice Over Equal Amounts
In the Bible, generosity isn’t measured by equal amounts but by faithful sacrifice. While the tithe (tenth or ten percent) provides a biblical starting point for giving, it was never intended to be the finish line. Jesus affirmed tithing yet consistently pointed beyond percentages to the posture of the heart. The widow’s offering reveals that God values surrender over sums, and Paul teaches that giving is acceptable according to what one has, not what one does not. Under grace, our giving and generosity becomes Spirit-led, faith-filled, and proportionate—calling every believer, regardless of income, to participate meaningfully and sacrificially in God’s work.

God Wants Your Heart, Not Just Your Hand
God’s primary concern in giving is not the amount in our hand but the condition of our heart. Scripture consistently teaches that generosity flows from what we treasure most—because where our treasure is, our heart inevitably follows. God rejects outward acts of obedience that are disconnected from inward devotion, calling His people to give willingly, cheerfully, and from sincere faith rather than pressure or performance. When God has our heart, our resources naturally follow. True biblical giving is not a financial transaction; it is a spiritual act of worship that reflects trust, love, and wholehearted surrender to God.

Generosity Fuels The Mission
Financial generosity has been integral to the advancement of the gospel since the earliest days of the church. Throughout the New Testament, believers gave sacrificially to support missionaries, strengthen churches, and meet practical needs so that the message of Jesus could spread unhindered. If everything we have comes from God, then all of it belongs to Him and is entrusted to us for kingdom impact. We give generously so that more people may hear the gospel, proclaim Jesus as Lord, and become disciples. While church leadership is responsible to seek God for vision and direction, it is the faithful generosity of God’s people that determines the pace at which that vision becomes reality—resulting in more disciples made and more churches multiplied.

Everyone Has A Next Step In Giving
Giving and generosity is a spiritual journey, and every believer has a next step. For some, it may be taking a step of faith to give for the first time, then taking a next step of consistent giving; for others, it may mean increasing giving to a tithe(tenth), or stepping into sacrificial giving, or becoming a legacy giver that impacts generations to come. In the early church generosity grew as they grew in faith, and Scripture celebrates progress, not perfection. God meets us where we are, but He lovingly calls us forward into greater trust, obedience, and impact through our giving.
